Demystifying IB DP Predicted Grades
Struggling with making accurate predicted grades? Join us!
As our staff work to provide honest, supportive feedback through predicted grades, our schools often find that we come up short. Sometimes we are surprised by the IB’s assessments, at other times, we suspect our teachers are being too generous, or that our leadership is kneeling to the wishes of over ambitious parents.
At this session, we:
- Address some of ACES Member Schools’ frustrations concerning predicted grades vs the actual results in general, and in the specific subject areas you have reported from your schools.
- Hear about how different universities interpret predicted grades, and the degree to which they measure them against final results for a given student, or an entire school.
- Learn how the International School of Dusseldorf changed their disastrous “positive engagement” approach to a more accurate, transparent, fair, and supportive data-driven approach, with remarkable success.
The takeaways from this session will help you to better navigate the process of predicting grades for students and staff, and have the back-up needed for discussions with parents, school leadership, and even the IB!
