II. gimnazija Maribor was founded in 1949 as a state school, and has remained as such until today. With excellent Matura results in the national and IB programmes, and with more than 70 extra-curricular activities, it ranks among the best of Slovenian schools. It fulfils its mission, which is the development of creativity, self-initiative, independence and solidarity. The school offers The National Grammar School Programme, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and The National Grammar School Programme – Sport Classes. Gimnazija Novo mesto was founded in 1746 by Empress Maria Theresa of Habsburg. In the beginning, it was a boys’ high school. Before the Great War, the school became a coeducational institution and after the Second Wold War it turned into a 4-year secondary school for students aged 15 – 19. At present, the school comprises about 700 students and approximately 70 teaching staff. Gimnazija Novo mesto provides well-rounded general education across all 4 years followed by a national final exam in 5 subjects. Students can choose between different foreign languages, besides English also German, French and Spanish. Students who are interested in classical education can opt for the Classical programme that highlights Latin, rhetorics and philosophy. Active athletes can enrol in sports classes to pursue their sports careers alongside their education. In 2021 Gimnazija Novo mesto became an IB DP school and enrolled the first cohort in the school year 2021/2022. Due to a long tradition in students’ theatre DP theatre SL/HL course is a part of our IB curriculum.

Danube International School is an IB world school, offering a challenging curriculum for all 515 students from early years (3 year olds) to the IB Diploma Programme (18 years). In five of the past seven years, 100% of IBDP candidates passed the International Baccalaureate Diploma, showing DISV to have the best results in Austria. The Gymnasium Klosterneuburg& IB World school is a state-run – and entirely tax-payer funded – selective secondary school.
We teach our children for 8 years continuously – getting to know them very well and working together over a very extended period of time. We deliver a broad, general education across all 8 years, so that by the end of their time with us, pupils will have received teaching in 14 different subjects, including all 3 sciences – often, but not always, 3 foreign languages, maths, humanities, art, music, sports and ethics.
As an authorised IB world school pupils can – in addition to their 14 subjects – choose to follow additional teaching of the International Baccalaureate curriculum. This means that they can sit the IB Diploma examinations in addition to the Austrian Reifepruefung.
